Sauna & Steam

At Function Well, we believe that sweat is physical proof of authentic wellness. With our modern sauna and steam room facilities in our Restoration Zone in Brisbane, it’s never been easier to accomplish a good sweat session.

sauna VS steam room

Both promote sweating, but they use different types of heat to accomplish it. A sauna creates hot, dry air, with low humidity. Whereas a steam room generates moist wet air, with high humidity.

Steam room Benefits

The wet heat from a steam room can help open up your pores and remove impurities from the body. A 15-minute session in the steam room will release the toxins underneath your skin and remove dirt and dead cells to promote clearer skin and wellbeing.

Steam heat therapy can be used as part of your warm-up, to help you reach maximum mobility during activities such as pilates and yoga. We also recommend using the steam room in your warm down to aid muscle recovery after tough training workouts.

Sauna Benefits

The high, dry heat of the sauna sweat session helps to alleviate symptoms of delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and promote relaxation.

As your heart rate increases and your blood vessels dilate, blood flow increases to the skin. The increased circulation may help improve joint movement and ease arthritis pain. Taking time out in a sauna is arguably one of the best ways to unwind and relax.

After a stressful day of work or an intense workout, step into our steam room or sauna and start unwinding.
