Community Team Member

Not only is Function Well one of the first gyms in Newstead and Teneriffe, but it’s also one of the largest—set over three specialised and unique zones.

We are looking for positive, dedicated and career focused fitness professional to come on board and be a part of this exciting phase of growth for Function Well – the right candidate will join the Function Well Community Team at our Newstead hub and deliver the ultimate customer experience to our valued members.

Position priorities:

  • Leading the Community Team and coordinating events to foster community

The Role:

Extensive product knowledge of our holistic offering so you can best help prospects and our members along with a desire to create incredible, memorable experiences at every opportunity is paramount. 

Providing unique and exciting events and experiences for our members is a key way in how we foster our community, therefore event planning and delivery must excite you. 

To thrive in this role, you must have a desire to get to know our members and take genuine interest in their fitness and wellness goals. This is an incredible opportunity for you to build long-lasting relationships within our community. 

You will be the first person that members come to with feedback and suggestions, therefore you must be able to manage constructive feedback and provide solutions accordingly. 

Our Community Team assists with day-to-day operations and is responsible for greeting members and guests, answering phone calls and emails, ordering stock, supporting with rosters, and ensuring the hub is always clean and tidy.

About You:

  • Driven with plenty of initiative and discipline 
  • Natural leadership skills and works well in a team environment
  • Minimum one year’s work experience in retail/sales leadership, or equivalent role
  • Exceptional customer service skills  
  • Multi-tasker and excel in busy environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Impeccable presentation
  • Detail oriented and highly organised with strong time management skills
  • Love of brainstorming, problem-solving, being creative and resourceful 
  • Passion for fitness and believes in the Function Well philosophy
  • A high performer with a positive can-do attitude 
  • Ability to assist with planning and executing events to foster community
