Introducing InBody 570.

InBody Body Composition Analysers are the latest technology available on the market for effective, reliable and accurate, non-invasive, body composition testing. This state-of-the-art, medically graded technology is now available to you here at Function Well.  What is it?

The InBody Body Composition Analysers are a medically graded, Therapeutic Goods Approved (TGA) device. It is the only bioelectrical impedance machine with 98% correlation to the DEXA scan across a broad range of populations, from children, elderly, Athletes and obese people to name a few. The InBody 570 is a new and improved InBody product line, providing exact measurements and data analysis of an individual’s body composition including muscle mass, water, fat, protein, bone mineral and much, much more. The InBody identifies your body’s current status, progression and changes over time. The InBody 570 provides clinically comprehensive analysis of:

  • Total Body Weight
  • Body Fat Mass
  • Skeletal Muscle Mass
  • Fat Free Mass
  • Total Body Water
  • Protein
  • Body Fat Percentage
  • Waist Hip Ratio (WHR)
  • Body Mass Index (BMI)
  • Segmental Muscle Mass (showing the difference in composition between each arm and leg)
  • Visceral Bar Graph
  • Nutritional Assessment

Why get an InBody Assessment? Without doubt the most important thing to do when on a quest for physique and health improvement is to set a benchmark…Test and re-test regularly. Doing so allows for the very best program to be implemented. If you or your coach does not have data on your current strengths and weaknesses then they are just ‘guesstimating’ what is going to work best for you. We all have our very own unique physiology, and testing allows you to identify areas requiring attention.  Reasons for Testing

  • Establishes current health status enabling a plan to be devised addressing your unique physiology
  • Assists in setting specific and measurable goals
  • Aids in motivation & increases accountability
  • Accurate guide to body composition (muscle to fat ratio)
  • Tests all 3 forms of fat

Scale Weight Vs Body Composition Often we can become obsessed with the number on the scales in identifying our health and physique changes. When embarking on or engaging in strength training, the scales often mislead us to what is really happening with our health and body composition. Jumping on the scales simply tells us the total mass of all our body’s tissues combined. What is important is the composition of your weight – regardless if you are Male or Female, having a high level of skeletal muscle will improve your overall health. This can only be tested through body composition analysis. Rather than tracking body-weight we should be tracking our body composition to provide the most accurate indication of our health and effectiveness of our training regime. What often happens when lifting weights is your shape will change considerably, your clothes are looser, you have more energy and you know you are going in the right direction, but for some reason the scales haven’t changed as much as you’d like. The reason for this is you have put on muscle and muscle is a lot denser than fat. For example, you may have dropped 7kgs of body fat and put on 3kg muscle, the scales will only display a  4kg drop, when in fact you’ve dropped 7kgs of body fat – In doing so you will have achieved a considerable physique change. The best example of this is the below screen shot from the InBody manual which indicates two ladies that weigh the same, but have different body compositions (muscle to fat ratios). By adding muscle you improve your overall health and body composition
