Our 8-Week Youth Performance Program (starts April 29th), led by Chris Muckert, is designed to help young athletes build a strong foundation in movement, strength, coordination, and injury prevention. Whether your child is just starting their fitness journey or already competing in sports, this program will equip them with the skills to move better, get stronger, and perform at their best – all in a fun and engaging environment.

Meet Your Coach: Chris Muckert

Chris Muckert is a highly skilled strength and conditioning coach with over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry. A former NRL player for the Parramatta Eels and North Queensland Cowboys, Chris transitioned into coaching after a professional career shaped by his passion for health and fitness.

Throughout his coaching career, Chris has worked with some of Australia’s top strength coaches and elite athletes. From 2015 to 2019, he served as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Souths Logan Magpies, where he played a key role in player development and team performance.

His expertise extends beyond team sports – Chris has worked closely with world-title boxer Dennis Hogan and played a critical role in preparing Jeff Horn for his final fight.

Chris specialises in tailored strength, conditioning, and rehabilitation programs, helping athletes optimise their performance while minimising injury risks. His training philosophy extends beyond physical fitness – he believes in developing both the body and mind to achieve peak potential.

Today, Chris continues to coach professional and semi-professional athletes, as well as young up-and-coming talent, ensuring they have the tools to perform at their highest level in sport and life.

    This program is designed for teens between the age of 12-16 who want to improve their movement, strength, coordination, and speed—whether they’re involved in sports or simply looking to build better fitness habits.

  • Does my child need prior sports experience?

    No prior experience is needed! Chris Muckert and the Function Well team cater to all fitness levels, ensuring each participant progresses at their own pace.

  • What should my child bring to each session?

    ✔ Comfortable athletic clothing and sports shoes
    ✔ A water bottle
    ✔ A positive attitude and willingness to learn!

  • How long are the training sessions?

    Each session lasts 1 hour, focusing on skill development, strength, and conditioning in an engaging and structured way.

  • Will this program benefit my child’s performance in other sports?

    Absolutely! The skills learned in this program—speed, strength, agility, coordination, and injury prevention—are transferable to all sports, including rugby, soccer, basketball, swimming, and more.

    Yes, our Base membership ($45) is a great place to start to allow your child to visit Function Well outside of these sessions. $0 onboarding and reduced term available.
