Overview

I am a recent graduate of QUT, where I studied a Bachelor in Exercise and Sport science. My passion for exercise stems from my own experiences and lifelong goals. From a young age all I wanted to do was play in the NRL, but I found this dream difficult to truly believe in due to my less then desirable body composition, fitness and strength levels. However, once I discovered the effectiveness of training hard, my dream seemed a little closer to reach. Through years of training with many different Rugby League teams and being coached by some of the best coaches in the game, I became more interested in how the body reacts to training. This lead to me studying a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise at QUT and learning how important training is to everyone; not just athletes. Now I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to work within the great environment that is Function Well and am looking forward to seeing the positive improvement in people’s performances and lifestyles through training.

Coaching Philosophy:

My coaching philosophy is derived from both a theory background and practical experience. My first point of call is to look at a person’s goals, to ensure that they are motivated by the right reasons which will keep them coming back to the gym and working hard. A major component of my coaching philosophy is structural balance and mobility. Once starting with a new client, we work through mobility and structural balance before moving into more advanced compound lifts. I always encourage training hard, but it is of no use to anyone if it is done incorrectly. This will almost always result in injury or structural and postural imbalances.
