UNRIVALLED YIN AND YANG OFFERING
Our Function Well method is based on the ancient Chinese Yin and Yang philosophy. We believe in order to achieve superior fitness/wellness results that are sustainable, a balance of Yin and Yang activities is imperative
All our group fitness classes are scalable to all levels of fitness from fitness newbies to elite athletes. Our professional coaches are there to support, motivate and coach you every step of the way.
Our group fitness offering is structured to provide a fitness that is broad, general and inclusive through RESULTS based training methods.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Our goal is to deliver a program that best prepares trainees for any physical contingency life throws their way.
This means we don’t just do “cardio” or we don’t just do “weights”, our wide of variety of group classes addresses all 10 physical skills that make up fitness. Some classes will specialise predominantly in one physical skill e.g Stretch Therapy and our Yoga Classes will be Flexibility and our CrossFit classes will often expose trainees to all 10 Physical skills at some point across the week and or each session.
10 PHYSICAL SKILLS THAT MAKE UP FITNESS
Cardiovascular/respiratory endurance – The ability of body systems to gather, process, and deliver oxygen.
Stamina – The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store, and utilize energy.
Strength – The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.
Flexibility – the ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint.
Power – The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply maximum force in minimum time.
Speed – The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.
Coordination – The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement.
Agility – The ability to minimize transition time from one movement pattern to another
Balance – The ability to control the placement of the bodies center of gravity in relation to its support base.
Accuracy – The ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity.
