Our summer challenge is about more than the standard ‘join our summer program to look great on the beach’. Our challenge is not all about weight loss, it’s a way to better health and happiness long term. It just so happens the by product is a body to be proud of this Summer – You will be at your best physically, mentally and emotionally.
Our because I said I would… this Summer is about making a commitment to yourself that is going to better your life by looking after the most important thing you have….your health. You will also be exercising the soul by making a commitment to encourage positive changes and acts of kindness. Below are my 2 because I said I would postcards.
One of our members Wes started a charity close to his heart, the Mental Awareness Foundation (MAF). $10 from every person that signs up for our because I said I would…this Summer will go to MAF and their goal to raise $50,000. The Program kicks off on Saturday 11th October at 9am with an Inbody Assessment and program overview seminar. At the seminar you will be provided with your Whole 30 book and because I said I would postcards. The first postcard will be used to encourage positive change through an act of kindness big or small, the second postcard will be for your summer health and fitness goal.
Certain food groups (like sugar, grains, dairy) could be having a negative impact on your health and fitness without you even realising it. Are your energy levels inconsistent or non-existent? Do you have aches and pains that can’t be explained by over-use or injury? Are you having a hard time losing weight no matter how hard you try? Do you have some sort of condition (like skin issues, digestive ailments, seasonal allergies or fertility issues) that medication hasn’t helped? These symptoms may be directly related to the foods you eat—even the “healthy” stuff.
So how do you know if (and how) these foods are affecting you? Strip them from your diet completely. Cut out all the psychologically unhealthy, hormone-unbalancing, gut-disrupting, inflammatory food groups for a full 30 days. Let your body heal and recover from whatever effects those foods may be causing. Push the “reset” button with your metabolism, systemic inflammation, and the downstream effects of the food choices you’ve been making. Learn once and for all how the foods you’ve been eating are actually affecting your day to day life, and your long term health.
You may not enjoy all 30 days, some days are going to be difficult. What I can promise you though, is tackle the program and really commit to the spirit of what it’s about and it will change you, others and the world for the better.
In no particular order…
1. You’ll sleep longer and more soundly.When sugar is out and protein/fat is in, you sleep the sleep of the righteous.
2. You’ll enjoy consistent energy. Forget energy that peaks and drops like a roller coaster, you’ll become a bullet train.
3. You’ll wake up feeling optimistic and alert. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, better than waking up with a smile and open heart.
4. You’ll say goodbye to digestive distress. Forget about farts and tummy rumbling and…let’s call them “uncomfortable bathroom experiences.” You might have a little discomfort at first if you’re not used to eating lots of veggies, but after that, smooth sailing.
5. You’ll be happier. No joke. When blood sugar is stable, life is happier. Period.
6. You’ll be more peaceful. The swirly thoughts and anxiety that can be brought on the sugar joyride just vaporize and leave calm in their wake.
7. You’ll make new friends. There’s a great community here at Function Well to support and share your successes and obstacles.

Non Members: $147 including 2 Performance Coaching sessions. *Must become a member to participate in the program. Weekly membership fees are not included in the $147 fee.
